The Sophie Lancaster Foundation focuses on creating respect for and understanding of subcultures in our communities. It works in conjunction with politicians and police forces to ensure individuals who are part of subcultures are protected by the law. In 2013 Greater Manchester Police became the first to monitor and record hate crimes and incidents against people from Alternative Subcultures. Several other Police Authorities followed their example and SORM themselves now adopt alternative subculture as one of their ten protected characteristics.

White Ribbon UK is a charity that recruits men to become ambassadors in support of the idea that men need to take responsibility and be held accountable and never remain silent about male violence against women. The campaign raises awareness of violence against women across the country through activities organised by White Ribbon Ambassadors and Champions, our White Ribbon accredited organisations and many others.
